City Of Elk River issued the following announcement on May 8.

If you’ve recently traveled the Highway 169 corridor through Elk River, you may have noticed Braun Intertec Careers, a geotechnical, environmental consulting and testing firm, working in the area. Braun is conducting soil boring investigations (hence the big drills shown in the photos) at intersections set for reconstruction which will be used to help engineers design the most reliable and cost-effective bridge footings.

In other 169 Redefine news, the Elk River Business Open House postponed in March due to COVID-19 health and safety concerns, will take place virtually on Wednesday, May 13 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. via Zoom. The Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce will host this virtual meeting where project engineers from Minnesota Department of Transportation and the city will share the most current design plans, answer questions, and more. There is no cost to participate, RSVP at tinyurl.com/169BusinessRSVP to receive the Zoom link invitation. Keep in mind, this is for businesses in the Highway 169 area - an open house for residents will be scheduled soon.
