City of Holdingford issued the following announcement on Feb. 4.
As you might have read in the minutes, the city will be planning utility work on Main Street this summer. We are going to be doing the work in conjunction with the County, which has earmarked Main Street to be repaved. The work will be started after Holdingford Daze, so mid-July. Road construction is never convenient and mostly frustrating. The best laid plans for construction are often hampered by mother nature sending in bad weather to make delays. Nevertheless, the city is going to hope for the best and get needed street, water and sewer work done. We are also looking to co-ordinate with Xcel Energy and have electric poles and electrical lines moved off Main Street and replaced with just street lights. It’s a lot of work, and will be a great inconvenience to our main street businesses who will bear the brunt of the mess. What these businesses need from our community is the continued support and help to keep them thriving during the construction. There will be a period of time where getting to these businesses will take extra time and effort, but please, make the effort to give them your patronage. More details to come in the upcoming months!
