Lisa Demuth, a Minnesota state legislator, announced her selection of Ryan Wilson as her running mate for lieutenant governor in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) between November 10 and 11, 2025. In these messages, Demuth highlighted both Wilson’s experience and their shared vision for the state as they prepare to challenge incumbent Governor Tim Walz.

On November 10, Demuth wrote: "I was thrilled to introduce @RyanDWilsonMN as my lieutenant governor running mate this afternoon. Ryan’s commitment to this state as a champion for government accountability will be a tremendous asset as we work together to retire Tim Walz and deliver for Minnesota."

The following day, she emphasized family values in her campaign messaging: "I have four children and seven grandchildren. My running mate Ryan Wilson has five kids of his own. We're running for governor to ensure all kids will have a stronger, better Minnesota than the one that two terms of Tim Walz has left us with today:"

In another post later that day, Demuth expressed gratitude toward military veterans: "Thank you to all those military veterans who serve and have served our nation and Minnesota. You make us all proud to live in this wonderful nation, which would not be possible without your selfless service and sacrifice."

Demuth’s announcement marks the beginning of her gubernatorial campaign alongside Ryan Wilson. As context, Tim Walz is serving his second term as governor of Minnesota after first being elected in 2018. The state has seen competitive races in recent election cycles.
