As the 2025 legislative session concluded, Representative Paul Novotny (R–Elk River) discussed his first year as Chair of the Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee. Novotny, who is serving his third term and previously worked as a Sherburne County Sheriff’s Sergeant, reflected on his experiences and addressed expectations for an upcoming special session.

Novotny emphasized the challenges and responsibilities that come with chairing the committee. “Plenty of work ahead, and I’m ready for it,” he stated.
