West Central School District: MCA and MTAS Math results for 2021-22 school year

West Central School District ranked 11th in the Stearns County for test participation, with 11 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of West Central School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year remained unchanged from the previous year.

West Central School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 27% in 2021-22 school year.

11th-grade students stood out with 0% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 0% not meeting the expected standards.

West Central School District encompasses schools within Stearns County and has a main office in Melrose.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
