Were Sherburne County students able to meet testing expectations in the 2021-2022 school year?

1,173 8th grade Sherburne County students took the Reading portion of the MCA test in the 2021-2022 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

10th grade students in Sherburne County did the best in the Reading portion of the MCA out of all the students in the county.

At the other end of the educational spectrum, 3rd grade Sherburne County students scored in the lowest proficiency of the Reading portion of the MCA.

The number of Sherburne County students taking the MCA in 2021-2022 rose by 11.1% from the previous school year.

The MCA is given annually to Minnesota students to determine the academic readiness of students. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the the Nation’s Report Card showed math and reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.
