Stearns County Auditor-Treasurer Randy Schreifels wants to inform residents of the outcome of the post-election review process. A Post-Election Review (PER) was conducted on November 21st at the Stearns County Service Center in Waite Park.
The PER is a hand count of ballots for the U.S. Representative and the Governor’s race. The ballots are hand-counted to ensure that the results the voting machines reported on Election Day accurately reflect the marked ballots. Results must meet the acceptable performance standards outlined in the statute; otherwise, additional precincts must be reviewed. Post-election reviews are one layer of security to ensure our elections are free, fair, secure, and accurate.
The Stearns County General Canvassing Board certified the 2022 election results on November 14, 2022, and then randomly selected three precincts for this process. The precincts of Collegeville Township P1, St. Wendel Township P1, and Sauk Centre City. The results of all hand-counted ballots proved to be accurate with the results from voting machines reported on Election Day. The machines were completely accurate!
