August: Two registered sex offenders living in Benton County

There was one more registered sex offender living in Benton County in August compared to the previous month, according to the Minnesota Public Registrant Search.

There are two sex offenders registered in Benton County in August, compared to one the month before.

The Registry shows none of these sex offenders are sexual predators. In Minnesota, convicted predatory offenders also are subject to certain mandatory sentencing laws that are designed to minimize their chances to re-offend.

Minnesota legislation about sex offenders and predators is currently being evaluated and revised, such as if offenders with good behavior can be removed from the Registry.

Harold Eugene BealsCriminal sexual conduct in the first degreeHarold Beals engaged in sexual contact with a known female toddler and child on multiple occasions. Contact included sexual touching and penetration. Beals bound them on at least one occasion to gain compliance.
Steven Lee OdeliusCriminal sexual conduct in the second degree, criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree Steven Odelius engaged in sexual contact against two unknown male children. Contact included sexual touching. Odelius gained access by approaching them in a public place. Odelius used manipulation to gain compliance.
