City Of Sartell issued the following announcement on July 9.
After further discussions with residents within The Wilds neighborhood and our community members, staff will be recommending that the full court basketball sport court STAYS in The Wilds park instead of swapping it with the planned sport courts at Watab Park. We will continue to explore budgetary options to add an additional full court basketball court to Watab Park in the future as we know the demand for this type of facility exists.
This decision will go before our City Council on Monday, July 13th, but we felt an update prior was needed in order to clarify any misinformation that is being shared.
It is also important to highlight that all are welcome to enjoy our public amenities within our community. As the temperatures have risen over the past few weeks we have also seen a significant uptick in the use of our basketball courts within the community center. We are happy to see both our indoor and outdoor facilities garnering this demand!
