The growing demand for massive COVID-19 testing has resulted in Carris Health and CentraCare to start providing curbside testing for the virus by appointment.
Health officials use an oral or nasal swab to collect the samples from the patients. When the results are available, the patient is contacted through the information they left during testing, KNSI reports.
CentraCare locations that patients can visit to get tested are Sauk Centre, St. Cloud's River Campus Clinic, Long Prairie, Paynesville, Monticello, Melrose and Carris Health's Redwood Falls and Willmar Main clinics.
Before testing, the health officials screen the candidates to determine if they qualify as candidates for testing. However, the Minnesota Department of Health has insisted on making high-risk patients their priority when testing.
Before a patient visits the collection site, they are required to make an appointment with CentraCare by calling 320-200-3200. Appointments can also be made through the CentraCare's eClinic service.
