Sen. Jerry Relph is encouraging the use of Zoom for video conferences, according to an op-ed he penned in the SC Times.
He touts the “basic” and “free” platform that has been the hub for virtual meetings as the coronavirus caused millions around the country to head for self-isolation and quarantine.
“The tools are simple to use and allow you to interact, raise your hand so the meeting host can see, turn the video feed on and off, mute the microphone etc.,” he wrote, according to SC Times. “There is even a live chat so people can exchange thoughts without interrupting someone when they are talking. It works on computer or cell phone that has full features.”
He said his family is taking advantage of the app for a virtual happy hour.
According to the senator, all you need is a web camera (or mounted camera), and a microphone that is typically embedded in the computer.
