Lisa Demuth, a Minnesota state legislator, posted a series of statements on her Twitter account in mid-April 2026 addressing education policy and mining issues in the state.

On April 16, Demuth criticized House Democrats for their actions during an education committee hearing. She wrote, “Minnesotans are counting on us to get this school safety legislation done. That every single House Democrat in an education committee hearing this week voted NO on this common sense solution is beyond disappointing.”

Later that day, Demuth issued a statement regarding U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar’s vote related to mining communities in northern Minnesota. In her post, she stated, “My statement on Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s vote to turn her back on our Iron Range mining communities.”

On April 17, Demuth reiterated her stance on school safety by posting, “The bottom line is this — we want to protect every student in every school across Minnesota.”

School safety and resource allocation have been ongoing topics of debate among Minnesota lawmakers. The Iron Range region has historically depended on mining as a key economic driver and frequently features in political discussions about jobs and environmental policy.
