County Of Stearns issued the following announcement on Jun. 16.
Interesting fact… Minnesota ranks 8th in the country in milk production and 6th in cheese production. So it’s only appropriate we recognize that it’s National Dairy Month. National Dairy Month started out as National Milk Month in 1937 to promote drinking milk, created to stabilize dairy demand when production was at a surplus. Today, the tradition celebrates the contributions the dairy industry has made to the world.
A few ways to celebrate National Dairy Month:
*Host a dairy trivia night: hosting game night this month? Turn it into Dairy Trivia!
*Host an Ice Cream Social with your neighbors- invite the neighbors to bring their favorite flavors!
*Milk mustache photo contest- post your family’s photos on social media to share with friends and challenge them to do the same!
*Grilled cheese cookoff- involve the whole family in cooking, use different cheeses & decide which cheese is your favorite!
