County Of Sherburne issued the following announcement on Aug. 10.

Grazing in the Grass at Grams

On Monday, we welcomed more than 200 sheep and goats to Grams Park as part of a conservation grazing effort to remove invasive plants. They will be in enclosed spaces as they graze on unwanted thickets of plants such as buckthorn. This restoration project includes a prescribed burn that was done in July.  Next spring we’ll plant native seeds that will transform the park’s landscape.

Grant money is being used for this project, which is possible because of a partnership with MNL, Sherburne Soil & Water Conservation District, Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources, Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund.
