City Of Melrose issued the following announcement on Jan. 14. 

Melrose Area Ambulance Service, proudly servicing the Melrose and surrounding areas since 1969, is currently seeking new members in or near the city of Melrose.  This is an exciting opportunity for individuals to get involved with the community and to build or expand on some new skills!  This is considered a volunteer position with paid-on call compensation.  Other benefits include retirement, longevity programs, clothing allowance, leadership opportunities, and training benefits.  We are currently seeking new members for all hours including day, night, weekend and standby.  

Schedules are based on volunteer hours with a minimum of 3 shifts per month.  On-call time can be taken from a 5-mile radius of the Ambulance Garage including the comfort of your own home or place of employment.  With flexible scheduling, evening meetings, and a fun team-building atmosphere this can be a great hobby, fun job, or way to meet other community members!  Applicants must be 18 years or older and have a valid driver’s license.  Class starts February 7th through Ridgewater College with a hybrid format including online and in person classes, the in-person classes are held in St. Cloud.  Cost of the class and material are FREE!  Ride-along opportunities available through the Melrose Area Ambulance.
