City Of Elk River issued the following announcement on Mar. 10.

Join us for the Spring Clean Up Day on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the Elk River Maintenance Facility (19000 Proctor Road) from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

This event is open to all Sherburne County residents (with proof of residency) and offers an opportunity for people to get a jump on spring cleaning by recycling or disposing of unwanted household items for free, or at a discounted rate. Our spring event will provide recycling options for appliances, electronics, tires, scrap metal, batteries, carpet and more. New in 2022, we’ll also be accepting plastic shopping bags to be recycled for free!

Document destruction paper shredding will be available across Proctor Road in the tennis court parking lot near Salk Middle School from 8:00-11:00 a.m. The fee is $5 per resident and $25 per business and payment for shredding must be cash or check only.
