Of the 19,852 citizens living in Martin County in 2019, 15,523 were old enough to vote as of Jan. 26, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

The bureau reported 7,878 of those people were female and 7,645 were male.

Data for this story was compiled from the bureau’s American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.
